SERVICES
Loveland’s After School Program, HERO, offers an after school setting for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A small 1:4 ratio allows children who may struggle in larger after school activities to flourish in the HERO program.
HERO runs from 3:30-6:30 PM M-F, giving parents the much needed ability to work full time, go to appointments, run errands, and just have time for themselves.
HERO programs are available in North Port, Port Charlotte, and Venice locations for the 2024-2025 school year.
As this program is meant to support families of individuals with disabilities, a parallel program also runs at each location offering support to siblings of individuals with a disability. This allows parents to not have to drive to multiple after school programs to pick up their children.
Daily Schedule for After School Program:
2:30-3:30 Pick up from school, arrive at Loveland location, free time while others are arriving
3:30-4:00 Snack & bathroom break.
4:00-4:30 Park or outdoor activity, weather permitting, or indoor physical activity.
4:30-5:30 Academic Support: home work, reading, functional math skills (counting money, telling time, etc) at an individualized appropriate level.
5:30-6:30 Fun activity (Art projects, Karaoke, Cooking, etc).
