Community Foundation of Sarasota County Awards $4,000 Grant to Loveland Center
Loveland Center is proud to announce that the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded a $4,000 unrestricted grant through the James J. Wherritt Charitable Fund. The grant will support Loveland Center’s ongoing efforts to provide programs, services, and individualized support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in South Sarasota County.
Supporting Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The grant provides Loveland Center with flexible funding to respond to emerging needs and strengthen the programs and services available to the individuals and families it serves.
Loveland Center currently supports more than 375 adults in South Sarasota County with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Its services are designed to meet people where they are and provide meaningful opportunities for individuals with a diverse range of abilities, including those with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County for this generous investment in Loveland Center and the people we serve,” said Patrick Guerin III, President and CEO of Loveland Center. “Unrestricted support gives us the ability to adapt to emerging needs that arise and strengthen our programs and services.”
Community Support Makes a Difference
Unrestricted grants are an important source of support for nonprofit organizations like Loveland Center. Rather than being limited to a specific program or expense, flexible funding allows the organization to direct resources toward the areas of greatest need.
For Loveland Center, this support helps strengthen its ability to serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout South Sarasota County and the surrounding community.
The partnership between Loveland Center and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County demonstrates the impact that local philanthropy can have on individuals and families in the community. By investing in organizations that serve people with disabilities, community foundations and charitable partners help expand opportunities for inclusion, independence, and participation.
